Personal statement

My career began in the National Health Service in 2011 after graduating from Cardiff University. Early on, I progressed to become an Oncology Specialist Physiotherapist at the Velindre Cancer Centre, focusing on physical recovery and complex scar tissue work following cancer treatments and surgeries. It was within this specialist setting that I first gained significant experience treating complex pelvic floor dysfunction, post-mastectomy restrictions, and urinary symptoms following oncological treatments.

Alongside my NHS oncology work in Wales, I expanded my practice into private practice, developing dedicated menopause care, prolapse management strategies, and comprehensive pre- and post-natal rehabilitation plans. This phase of my career sparked an enduring passion for treating complex pelvic pain and chronic bladder conditions. Following my move to Edinburgh, I have continued to offer this highly specialised private care, including the Mummy MOT, which ensures new mothers receive comprehensive assessments, targeted recovery, and specialized C-section scar management to help them safely return to fitness, running, or functional strength training.

Now based in Edinburgh, I balance my private clinic work with my role as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) in Urology for NHS Lothian at the Western General Hospital. In this advanced role, I work directly alongside consultant urologists to manage a broad range of complex male and female urinary symptoms. A significant focus of my practice includes leading on the prostate cancer pathway, preparing men for surgery to optimise their long-term continence and recovery. I also specialise in the complex management of voiding dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain, and bladder pain syndrome. This clinical focus has given me a highly specialised interest in advanced pelvic floor rehabilitation for Fowler’s syndrome.

My goal is to provide a compassionate, evidence-based space where we can fully investigate your symptoms. Together, we will build a tailored, practical action plan to optimize your pelvic health and significantly improve your quality of life.
