Personal Statement

I completed my BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in India before moving to the UK to pursue my MSc (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy) at Sheffield Hallam University. It was during this time that I developed a strong interest in research, leading me to undertake an MPhil degree at Keele University. Alongside my research, I gained extensive clinical experience across both the NHS and private healthcare sectors in England. I later relocated to Scotland, where I joined BMI Kings Park Hospital (Stirling) as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, treating both inpatient and outpatient populations.

I joined Physis in 2019, and while working as a specialist MSK physiotherapist, I developed a strong passion for women’s health physiotherapy. With ongoing study, research and advanced training, I am a certified practitioner specialising in- Mummy MOT®, Menopause (specialised coach) and Pregnancy & Infant Loss. I am also an affiliate member of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP). My holistic approach to care is supported by additional training in Pilates (matwork, ante/post-natal and menopause) and therapeutic yoga, which I incorporate into clinical practice when beneficial.

My passion for women’s health physiotherapy grew from both clinical experience and my own journey into motherhood. Experiencing two challenging caesarean deliveries, physical and emotional recovery that followed opened my eyes to how overlooked and under-supported women can feel during pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and beyond. This personal insight motivates me to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care that helps women feel supported, empowered and confident in their bodies.

I provide specialist assessment and treatment for a wide range of women’s health issues including- Mummy MOT®, Menopause MOT, hysterectomy rehabilitation, scar management (post-surgical and c-section), pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), pelvic organ prolapse, bladder and bowel incontinence, overactive bladder, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain…and more.

** For South Asian patients, I also offer consultations in Hindi and Nepali **

What our patients say about Rani

‘Rani started seeing me not long after my second c-section and has been instrumental in helping me recover from it as well as general pregnancy related issues (pelvic floor, diastasis recti, and so on). She’s been the perfect mix of encouraging, strict (frequently reminding me not to rush things!), and sympathetic – more than once holding my little boy whilst I practised the exercises. Highly recommend her mummy MOT!’ Emilie Greener

‘I’ve seen Rani for close to 5 months after receiving spinal surgery and I can’t recommend her enough. I can’t believe my progress in such a short space of time and I couldn’t have done it without her! She was amazing from start to finish, no matter how many tears of frustration I cried, she understood and I left every session feeling better and positive about my recovery going forward :)’ Lauren

‘I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Rani. From the very first session, Rani made me feel supported, understood, and empowered in my recovery journey. Her tailored exercises helped ease my pain, improve my mobility, and rebuild strength safely and effectively. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and truly passionate about helping new mums recover. I’m so thankful for her care and would highly recommend her to anyone navigating postpartum healing’ Robyn Darley.
